Message From Our Pastor
We humans find ourselves at the turn
of another century. Christianity has been in existence for some 2000
years now. We have found that with incredible advances in technology,
transportation methods, the medical field, our communication systems,
and the advent of the computer and “cyberspace” our planet has become a
much “smaller” place. Yet even with these incredible “leaps and bounds”
we find much of humanity wallowing in ignorance, violence, poverty, and
starvation.
Humans have advanced in some areas,
regressed in others, have remained unchanged in many respects. The
message of Jesus Christ still needs to be spread! The Good News of Jesus
must be proclaimed!
Here at Santa Clara our Community
makes many efforts at proclaiming the Good News and restoring hope to a
sometimes “hopeless” world. With our magnificent “Vincent DePaul
volunteers” and regular Liturgies we do what we can to feed our
people physically and spiritually. With our 100 year old Elementary school
and RCIA programs we do what we should to instruct our children and
our adults. With our Bereavement, Eucharistic Ministers and Sacramental
preparation programs we do what we must to strengthen the Body of
Christ in our midst. I sincerely believe the Holy Spirit is very much
alive and well in our community.
You are most welcome to our Catholic
Community of Santa Clara, Oxnard. May God bless us all as we strive to
represent Jesus in our service to each other.
Sincerely,
